If you are near the intersection of Clark & Diversey, which is quickly becoming a foodie destination, make sure that trying La Creperie is on the agenda!
This cozy French cabin is located across the street from Landmark Theaters and even has a fireplace to boot! It is incredibly convenient that if you bring in your ticket stubs from seeing a movie you will even get a free chocolate crepe- what could be better?
Serving the neighborhood since 1972, their website claims they are the oldest creperie restaurant in the U.S. It was closed for a brief stint in 2013 after the owner’s son passed away and then reopened quietly again in 2014.
It has the perfect ambiance for a romantic dinner date or just meeting with friends. If you can get the coveted table in front of the fireplace warmth you will … Read More »
Masouleh is one of the most unique restaurants I have been to in Rogers Park and I can’t wait to go back! It’s right off of Clark street, is very clean, and they even have jars of homemade pickled vegetable mixes for sale.
The couple who owns it are absolutely adorable and extremely nice! When I wasn’t sure what to order they answered all of my questions (many questions) and made me feel right at home. Beautiful photography from Iran is featured on the brick walls with middle eastern decor in an urban atmosphere.

Wow! Did you know that the beautiful Chicago Botanical Gardens has free concerts for the public to picnic while enjoying the beautiful scenery? We didn’t either! All summer long there are summer evening concerts Monday – Thursdays usually starting at 7:00 p.m.!
Some of our favorites are the Carillon Concerts of maestros playing the bells on the bell tower. Their website reads that the tower was crafted in Holland, and it’s bronze bells have a range of four octaves as one of the few hand-played carillons in the nation. These concerts run on Mondays through September and have a free pre-concert tour of the Carillon. See the list of Carillon Concerts by clicking here.
We also love the Tuesday night option of Music on the Esplanade and Cocktails! On Tuesday the 25th, Hector & Mari Fernandez, along … Read More »
