Museum of Science and Industry:72nd Annual Christmas Around the World & Holidays of Light- Until 1/5/2014
Stroll through beautifully decorated trees while various traditional folk music performances are happening from a wide range of cultures!
“As always, the Museum’s 45-foot Grand Tree takes center stage in the Rotunda with more than 30,000 red, green and white twinkling lights and hundreds of ornaments and trimmings. More than 50 smaller trees are beautifully decorated by volunteers from Chicago’s ethnic communities to represent their various cultures and holiday traditions. This custom began for local families in 1942 as a United Nations Day salute to the Allies during World War II. Thus, we will pair the deepest, darkest of chocolate with an array of harmonious wine selections. Sticky and sweet, spicy and raw. We are simply obsessed!
City Winery will pair up with our neighbors at Katherine Anne Confections, pairing some sweet wines with some sweet treats. Don’t worry if you’re not that into sweet wines, the wines will range from sweet to slightly sweet and off-dry wines. The sweet treats will be handcrafted, custom, innovative truffles! Aromas, textures, spice and wine! Bring … Read More »
