The American Heart Association’s 30th Anniversary Celebration Heart Ball, one of Chicago’s elite social galas, will be held Saturday, April 14th, 2012. The 2011 event raised funds to support cardiovascular research and education. In the past five years the American Heart Association has funded 282 studies at 13 Illinois institutions at a cost of over $30.2 million. www.heart.org/chicago
Giuliana Rancic headlines FabFest 2012, a day dedicated to health, beauty, and fashion at the Four Seasons (9 AM). Hosted by Bright Pink, the event offers a variety of classes and activities aimed to promote health and wellness. Choose from a series of action-packed, high-energy classes taught by some of Chicago’s most sought after instructors, or if you are feeling ambitious, complete the whole set! In between classes, young women from the Bright Pink community will share their stories and the impact Bright Pink has had on their lives. The 28th Chicago Latino Film Festival, running from April 13-26, 2012!
The CLFF is produced every April by the International Latino Cultural Center of Chicago, a pan-Latino, nonprofit, multidisciplinary arts organization dedicated to developing, promoting and increasing awareness of Latino culture among Latinos and other communities by presenting a wide variety of art forms.
