Chicago, IL (August 15, 2016) — Tango 21 Dance Theater presents Feathers: A Tango Journey at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts on August 19, 20 and 21, 2016.
Like the birds in the sky, we are on a journey and sometimes it takes a storm to reveal one’s true nature. Feathers: A Tango Journey tells the story of three women who meet by chance in an airport and share their tales of love, loss and the search for a path home.
Full of entrancing tango music and dance … prepare to fall into tango’s embrace! With a cast of actors, dancers, singers and musicians, Feathers: A Tango Journey was created, written and choreographed by Jorge Niedas and Liz Sung. It is the creative pair’s third original production using the uniquely expressive art and discipline of Argentine tango to tell contemporary stories.

Our original productions have played to sold-out theaters in Chicago and on its 2015 Midwest tour. What other people are saying about us:
“Cambalache was a blast! One of my family’s favorite events.”
– Julia Rhoads, Founder and Artistic Director, Lucky Plush Productions on Tango 21 Dance Theater’s holiday production of Cambalache.
“My wife Mary and I really enjoyed the show. It was written to introduce people to the unique aspects of Argentine tango with the rituals and passions involved in the dance. The show incorporated creative choreography and a wonderful solo singing performance. It was a show that made one wish that there was a vibrant (or any!) Argentine tango community in the South Bend/ Southwest Michigan area.”
– Jeffrey Haas, audience member at Tango 21 Dance Theater’s presentation of El Tango Café at the Acorn Theater in Three Oaks, MI.
